Bishop Roger James Hairston, Sr. is the Pastor and founder of Temple of Faith Church of the Living God, in Columbus, Ohio.
In June 1968, he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, at Prince of Peace Church of God in Christ, Columbus, Ohio. Shortly, thereafter, he accepted the call to the Christian Ministry and preached his first sermon in Cincinnati, Ohio, at Rose Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 14. He was licensed in 1972 and ordained in 1974 by his father, the late Reverend R. F. Hairston, Jr.

Bishop Hairston is gifted with a voice of power to preach the Word and also has the talent and ability to sing, direct and play music. He was called to his first pastorate in 1975, at the Prince of Peace C.O.G.I.C. In time he was led of God to found the Temple of Faith Church of Deliverance.

Bishop Hairston served as Ohio District Elder in the Church of the Living God for several years and was consecrated Bishop of the Ohio Faith Diocese Church of the Living God in October 2000. On November 1, 2005, he began his affiliation with the United Covenant Churches of Christ (UCCC) presently under the leadership of Presiding Prelate Eric D. Garnes, D. Min, MPS. Bishop Hairston currently serves as the UCCC National Director of Music.

Through his leadership, God has made the Temple of Faith a light shining in the community and he has been the candlestick from which it shines. With the completion of a new facility in December 1998 and a God-led vision for even greater things, Bishop Hairston is a true inspiration that "All is well, it's getting better and the best is yet to come!" He is married to Lady Sonya Hairston and they are the parents of five children and grandparents of nine.
